Ann Wilson loved watching her son play "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock." Heart's lead singer is honored to have her song "Barracuda" featured in the video game, adding that it's a good way of passing music on to younger generations.

"I have a son who's 12, and when he was 10 it was hard for him," she said. "But he got into it. He got a chair, took his shirt off, got his guitar on and he got good. It was fun to see him play the songs on that game."

Thanks for the correction and extra information. I got the list of benefitting charities from your Walk ''n' Rock website which said:

"our 2010 Nonprofit Partners: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sacramento, Inc., Cristo Rey High School, Keaton Raphael Memorial, Okizu, People Reaching Out, River Cats Foundation, Inc. and Wind Youth Services."

What are the nine other partners?

It's so awesome to hear that the younger generation is listening to more music from their parents' age, and it just shows the immutable power that some of that early rock and roll holds. However, it might be a warning sign that the kids are playing too many video games as opposed to breaking out old records and actually touching vinyl, touching the music, seeing it move, and not watching a load bar on a screen. Viva la rock. And I will be excited to see Heart at Raley field. Also, I'm so glad the author said 'former lead singer' and not 'original lead singer' of Van Halen. Long live David Lee Roth, man.
