Local television personality Mark S. Allen got his start in radio in the 80's on local station FM 102.5. He then went on to serve as producer/host of a segment called "Dateless and Desperate" on an Emmy award winning nationally syndicated teen show called "Scratch" '90-'94, and hosted "Short Attention Span Theater" '92-94 on Comedy Central (following John Stewart, and before Mark Marin).

After twelve years as Entertainment Reporter and Co-Host of CW 31's Good Day Sacramento, Mr. Allen has certainly made his "Mark" in Sacramento after taking home two (2) Emmy's for his show "Mark at the Movies" to which he serves as Host and Executive Producer.  Emmy's were presented at the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences ceremony held Saturday in San Francisco.

In additon to his Emmy wins, "Mark at the Movies" ran nationally for the first time Saturday after being picked up by the REELZ network.

You can catch Mark weekdays on Good Day Sacramento and weekends on "Mark at the Movies" both on CW31.

We here in Sacramento are proud of you Mark and celebrate your achievements along with you.

Good for Mark - He has carved out a great niche for himself in Sacramento. He has been a truly nice guy throughout his career - and is the same cheery and personable guy in person as he is on TV.

Not a fan. For a movie reviewer, his cinematic knowledge ranges the gamut from a to b. He wouldn't even know where that paraphrase came from.

And GoodDay, while entertaining AM fluff, has got to be one of the most insipid television programs of all time -- and that includes COP ROCK -- perhaps because, like Ronald Reagan, they make their audience feel it's okay to be dumb...

What's scary is that their audience votes, on occasion. Hence, KJ has a marginal political career.

Can't believe I'm actually agreeing with bbbbmer! Mark S. Allen never met a movie he didn't love. The Emmys have now proven they are worthless. GoodDay is pile of steaming fecal matter. The collective IQ of America drops every time this crap airs.

It's going to be really tough for Mark to interview himself, but I'm sure he's going to find a way to do so!
His love for himself knows no boundaries.

Congratulations Mark S. Allen, on the recognition of your peers. You're good at what you do, you're a highlight of the silliness on GoodDay Sacramento, you look good in stockings, you charm the stars and actually know how to interview. Ronald Reagan had much more to do with the downfall of our country than you did.

That would be several hundred comments fewer than you... Of course, mine are substantive and well written. Yours??? Well, I'd suggest otherwise...
