I wish him well and I am sad to see him leave but I do know and feel in my heart he deserves peace of mind. Blessings to Mr Kerridge and I appreciate all that he has given of himself to make Sacramento a better city for many of us. God bless you and keep you in the spirit of love.

I don't blame him for resigning and even with his resignation - knowing he will no longer manage this city- lots of mean-spirited comments will surface. If KJ resigned I'd have nothing else to say about him, in fact I'd simply wish him well but it is what it is and again, at least he'll have peace of mind to go with his great big heart

Hi Rhonda.

This guy represented a straight line, his good being know doubt met upon occasion with that animal called in house personal politics, there is no need expand upon that. Rays peace of mind is that he can leave the position of city manager with a straight spine,

Thank God for small miracles!!! This guy was/is not qualified to lead a city this size. His lack of leadership is largely to blame for the dysfunctional council.

It is time for council to come together and agree on a STRONG city manager that can lead the city and move this city forward. They should start by looking right w/i @ Gus Vina who is extremely qualified and has a financial background.

As I have been saving..."Sacramento needs a STRONG city manager, not a strong mayor."

I wish Mr. Kerridge the best in a job suited for his qualifications, but his resignation was way overdue as he and his buddy Billy Boy Thomas have driven this city to the ground.

Having lived in, and worked closely with, a number of cities, from Manhatten to Las Vegas to San Anselmo, I'd say Ray Kerridge is perhaps over qualified to lead a city of this size. He is a unique, transformative leader, a rareity. Is he perfect? No. Is that the standard for evaluation? With every human you get a complex mix of qualities. With Ray we had one of the best.

I'm thankfull in light of this sad news that we have a strong cadre of assitant city managers to fill the void.

No mention about all the illegal activities going on under his nose last year?

Press releases tend not to say bad things about the people that put them out.

This is just a republishing of the City's press release.

Right, Geoff, official press releases also tend to be less than accurate when stating positive things too as this one is.

A qualified city manager would be a good place to start. I too wish him well far far away from Sacramento. Bill Thomas is likely to be next but it probably won't be publicized. Agreed the Council leaves a lot to be desired but cogent and competent city management goes a long way to mitigate that. Now...let's hope we get a city manager who can actually do the job.
