The Business Environmental Compliance Center is an initiative focused locally that is another tool online and by other media in helping enterprise anywhere reduce its environmental impact. Starting in 1993 BERC has been providing "one-stop, non-regulatory permit assistance" enabling Sacramento County businesses "to understand and comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations". By the way BERC services are free. That is to say without cost.

"Landmark project" is the phrase used by Duane O'Donnell, Sacramento Regional Recycling Market Development Zone Administrator for BERC in describing the organization. The staff bring a wide variety of consulting expertise for business. O'Donnell is teacher of the Certified Food Safety Managers Class.

BERC also sponsors events and forms partnership to assist in the flow of information. BERC has announced a new partnership with the California Community Colleges Environmental Training Center to establish a training location locally. The first such training is February 24th.

BERC is a Sacramento County initiative that is setting the trend "greening business" everywhere.
