The Harlem Globetrotters made a stop in Sacramento Monday as part of its "2010 'Magical Memories' World Tour."

They wowed the thousands of fans at ARCO Arena and faced its long-time rival Washington Generals, but the game was only part of the show.

The team's dancing, antics, and fan participation showed that the Globetrotters are more than high-flying dunks and spectacular passes. It's also about entertainment.

"That's the best part of it all," Firefly Fisher said about making fans smile. "It's entertainment, plus basketball and you put those two together, it's fun."

The Cordero family experienced the fun first-hand when Laurie and Tim were invited onto the court, while their son, Tyler, watched.

Laurie Cordero was given a purse by the Globetrotters and gave two kisses on the cheek to showman Big Easy Lofton while Tim Cordero was taunted by Lofton.

"It was awesome," she said after the game. "It was definitely entertaining and I had a good time."

After defeating the Generals, the Globetrotters travel to Crown Point, Ark. for a show the next day. Fisher enjoys traveling with the team and hopes to be with the team for a long time.

"It's definitely a blessing and I'm extremely excited," he said. "It takes a lot of hard work. It's a commitment, which many people aren't able to do.

"It feels good to be able to do it with the team, to separate myself from others and be able to put on a good show for all the people around the world."

Whenever they got the chance, the team made sure to make fans feel special.

"That's the best part of it all, especially kids," Fisher said. "But when you add moms and dads as well as other people in the family it makes things that much better."

The Globetrotters have been entertaining fans since 1926 and have traveled the world. The team has also performed shows for various U.S. military bases overseas.

For 84 years wherever the team has gone, excitement and entertainment are sure to follow.

I really loved the globetrotters as a kid. They used to be on prime time and they also had their own cartoon. I wanted to bring my husband and three kids to the show but it was soooo expensive. it's sad that for a family of 5 you're looking at $250+. My young son was so disappointed but I told him I'd find some of their shows - maybe on netflix. I was sad to miss the show...
