Who is to Blame?
Nestlé was recruited by the Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization and the Economic Development Department, one of a series of bad projects they have brought here that include the municipal waste burning incinerator and the natural gas storage facility beneath homes in South Sacramento.

The EDD worked with SACTO in secrecy to convince Nestlé to choose Sacramento over Roseville or Stockton. Since the project has been announced Johnson has been Nestlé's only public sup...

Thank you so very much for the reply and for the additional information. I look forward to reading it and learning more in the days, months.... to come as Save Our Waer takes on this task. I really wish I could attend tonight. In fact their are 3 events I wanted to attend -all tonight - each I expect to learn from but my daughter and her husband are bringing my only grandchild to spend thanksgiving with me and flying in from New York today and I will be at the airport at 7pm. But if it were not for that I would definitely attend the screening and love to meet the powerful force behind Save Our Water. Thank you again for the info and I will continue to look for your updates...and continue to look to get in where I fit in-- (find my place in assisting Save Our Water) . I hope and look forward to reading an article from Save Our Water or Sacramento Press writers regarding tonight's screening and learning some of the questions asked and answered. Again, thank you for the info!

It's history, it's our common legacy, it's the fallout of decades of these same games. All that changes is how blatant they are about it. Can't get much more "in yer face" than right now... although with a strong mayor/manager/vetoer/9th-council-voter and his Off With Their Heads queen, who knows what the next chapter might hold.

The people clamoring for a central city arena might get a clue about that history, the two distinct elections where voters prevented it from being built further in, the Wild West lawlessness of Natomas development, the $$$$$$$$$$ and dirty deals that were made... the ripoff of the public and the betrayal of -- not only of Natomas residents -- but the whole community/region in how the floodplain was built out.

WOW! Marion your post is sooooo very true!

And for goodness sake --- "Small potatoes, small town greed, small minded visions of what World Class can be." ----- you are bad -- one tough cookie-- (and I mean that in a really good way)

I am sick and tired of hearing the "world class city" vision by some without a vision-- heck without a vision the people will perish-- in a wanna be world class city. I am tired of a wanna-be world class visionary and I'll be glad when his speech writer or person guiding his statements finally takes the time to write more than "world-class" and the "homeless are looking for a hand up and not a hand out." It is beginning to sound so rehearsed and like a broken record-- (we don't use records anymore moving to CD's..... - so you can imagine how OLD it is beginning to sound-- lol)
Heck, your post --your passion-- gives me energy-- thank you!!!!

World Class City: Warped Crass Cronies
Back Room Deals: Ordered By The Mayor DURING Council Session Behind Closed Doors
TOTALLY ILLEGAL!!!!!!!

The scoundrels who fancy themselves making Sacramento a "World Class City" by violating the public trust and public process, feeding at the public trough, are the ones making it a perpetual Cow Town, at public expense. Small potatoes, small town greed, small minded visions of what World Class can be. Turning development oversight into a joke since the arena landed in Natomas ag fields. And the person who literally "wrote the book" on CEQA helping them do it.

wow!! I really like part 1 and part 2 of this article. I really like how you walked us (the readers) through each phase. I really like how you showed us our mayor lending an ear to the corporation and once again failing to equally lend an ear to the concerns of community members-- public servant??? or servant of corporations??? I really like how you left no stone unturned as you wrote of Facilities Permit Program/ Development Overight Commission, Vested?, Special Treatment, Who is to Blame, Speaking out Against Nestle, Nestle and the City Continue to Break the Law, and What's NEXT! ---you broke it down!!! wow
I really like how you are showing us it ain't over til we say it's over!!! WOW! I am not familiar with this fight but I am looking forward to learning from it!!!! I read the article and I will admit----You have my attention and I respect the fight you have taken on ---- I don't know what I could do to help but I'm willing to do what is asked of me and it's not unselfish (I wish I could say it was) but I want to help so I can learn...... Thank you I don't have resources, money.... but I am a community member
interested in saving our water and equally important interested in learning how to fight a battle...... and Save Our Water has come on strong --putting it all out there-- breaking it down to disarm trickery....and I respect that!!!! wow
Oh, I looked on your profile and I didn't see any information regarding Save Our Water and the article- while it is informative- did not give us history as to who you are and their is no disclosure. Can you provide more information on Save Our Water. I apologize if I missed it, perhaps in an earlier article, but I'm interested in learning more of who you are....
