Rocket, this beautiful German Shepherd, is the unofficial mascot of Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services. He plays a key role at the organization. He makes people happy. Almost two years ago, Rocket was diagnosed with Osteocarcoma, a rare form of terminal cancer. In order to keep the disease from spreading, Rocket had one of his legs amputated. Since Rocket’s operation, he has been coming to work with his Mom, Kelly Siefkin, Sacramento Food Bank & Family Service’s Communication and Development Director. Initially Kelly brought Rocket to work with her because she was concerned about him being home alone, now she brings him because it is important to both Rocket and the amazing volunteers and community at SFBFS. Rocket has decided to try his paw at journalism. Every week, Rocket will interview a new Run to Feed the Hungry Runner. We will ask six different runners the same questions. 3. How many years have you been doing the Run to Feed the Hungry?
This is my second year doing run to feed the hungry.

4. How many people do you do the run with?
Last year I walked pulling my kids and niece in a wagon with my coworkers walking by my side.

5. Do you run or walk outside of this event?
I ran in the Susan G. Komen event for the last 2 years with my sister-in-l aw. She runs a lot and got me started.

6. What motivates you to be part of this cause?
Helping people in need motivates me to be a part of events like this one.

7. What is your favorite thing about The Run to feed the Hungry?
My favorite part is seeing all the thousands of people who come out and run/walk so early in the morning for such a good cause.

8. Do you have a favorite T-shirt design from over the years?
My favorite t-shirt design was last year's since it was my first time running.

9. If you could make one wish this year on Thanksgiving what would it be?
My wish this year is that even more people participate in Run to Feed the Hungry so lots more families can get fed!

10.What are you most thankful for this year?
I am most thankful this year for my beautiful loving wonderful family!!
