Are you ready to experience true fear?

The Downtown Plaza will be hosting Fear Overload, a haunted house that has replaced Gyros and will now be terrorizing the mall for the first time.

"We have had people come out who have wet their pants and run into walls," said David Polanco, owner of the haunted house. "It's crazy what people will do when they are scared."

The haunt features dozens of rooms that brave attendees can wander through unguided, for maximum scare, in groups of one to four.

"A tour guide in a haunted house is not very scary," Polanco said.

Polanco promises that no one is safe, even if you're in the middle of the group, in the haunt, with inmates, psychotic serial killers and savage mutated zombies waiting at every corner for the perfect time to attack.

"We try to scare people from every angle," Polanco said. "It's not just from the back to push people through the haunt. It's from the front, the sides and the ceiling."

Polanco said they pride themselves in never reusing props or rooms. After each haunt, all of the props are thrown out to make room for new, more realistic ones.

This year's theme will be a chemical spill in which zombies come alive.

The haunt will be open from 7 p.m.- midnight starting Oct. 9 and run through Nov. 1. Tickets will be $14, cash only at the door and $13 for online sales. VIP tickets, which are front of the line passes, are also available for $18 at the door and $17 online.

"It is advised that no pregnant women or children under the age of 13 visit the haunt", Polanco said. "There will also be emergency exits every 75 feet for those who cannot complete the haunt."

The Fear Overlod website boasts, "We will bring your worst nightmare to life."

So...do we get to find out exactly where this fear overload will be found, or is that part of the mystery?

As stated it's at the Downtown Plaza. But more specifically it will be in the old Copland Sports store above the Hard Rock Cafe.

Okay, that's the part I was looking for...Downtown Plaza covers six city blocks, being more specific is always nice.

This was one of the worst haunted house I have ever been to. I have been to every haunted house in Sacramento and they all suck, but this is the worst. It only takes about 10 minutes to walk through it and it is the same as the rest. Black plywood walls and people hitting them to scare you. There are long lenghts where there is nothing , no props or people. It just sucks compared to the hype the built up for it.

What a bunch of BS. I went to this haunted house & had to go back for more! It was soo scary! They did a really good job this year & those creepy girls in the bathroom gave me nightmares for days!!! The cage area was crazy wild too! The line to get in was very long but it was worth it. Hundreds of people were screaming scared out of their minds & grown adults freaking out & jumping out of their skin. They say it's not appropriate for kids & I agree as the gore factor was excellent but I did see a lot of younger ones so I know they are still having nightmares. I think the people that complain about being disappointed are just complainers in general... just my opinion. I loved the haunted house & had a lot of fun getting creeped out. Can't wait to go again next year!

This was the best haunted house I have ever been to. It was thrilling, and the actors were amazing, especially the man in the room with the cage! What an experience! I would definitely recommend this to all adults, but keep children away, the gore factor was great!
