People were "Bubbly" as they came in swimsuits and beared the sun while singing and dancing to the various artists that graced the stage at the 13th annual Day in the Zone concert at Discovery Park.

Howie Day, Colbie Callait, Hoobastank, and Train were the performers for the show put on by 100.5 FM The Zone.

"I came to see Colbie," Anika Polyak of Serendipity Boutique said. "It's really hot out, and it's not as crowded as last year's show, but it's still good."

Callait was definitly the crowd favorite, from her new song "I Won't" atop a firetruck ladder to her acoustic version of "Bubbly."

"Colbie should have headlined the show,"first-time attendee Brandon Osburn said. "I bet a lot more people would have come out."

"The sound system is always so good at these concerts," Polyak said. "It doesn't matter where you are sitting or how far away you are — you can always see and hear the performers."

Despite the heat, fans flocked to the stage as Train appeared and began to sing "Calling All Angels."

Yellow and white beach balls flew among the crowd and people danced as the bass shook the ground.

"I really like the lead singer of Train, Pat Monahan," Polyak said. "I'm hoping to hear some of his new solo songs."

Although Monahan did not play any of those original songs he did do a montage of Led Zeppelin songs

In the middle of Monahan's performance, he was accompanied by four young girls who he picked out of the crowd: Abby, Jenna, Riley and Kira, who he named his "Trainettes" as they sang "She's on Fire."

The Zone's Drew Hoffar said he was happy with the turnout of about 6000 and thinks the show was a success.

"We want to bring everyone what's hot in Sacramento," Hoffar said. "And right now, Howie has a new album, Colbie is just hot, everyone has been requesting Train, and who doesn't love Hoobastank?"

Hoffar said that, The Zone won't start planning next year's event until February, but he hopes to see Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift as potential performers.

The Halloween Exotic Zone Ball is the next big event for 100.5 The Zone. Hoffar said it's the biggest and best party in Sacramento, and they will be having a surprise musical quest.

"I would come again It's a great concert," said first time attendee Sasha Weyl from Serendipity Boutique.

All of the artists were great, but Train really rocked the house! They are FANTASTIC! The majority of people I talked to were there to see Train, including me. I am a fan of Colbie, and I think she is great, but she's got nothing on Pat Monahan. Aside from the artists, next year I really hope to see some Recycle bins and a restriction on cigarette smoke. I was really surprised how bad it was, considering this was an open-air venue. Overall, thanks for a great concert :O)
