Local mortgage company, Voyage Home Loans, has signed on as a sponsor for the Fifth Annual Painting for Miracles charity art event, Saturday, September 26, at Zap Creative Studios at North 12th Street. The sponsorship will fund an artist’s interpretive painting of a Children's Miracle Network child’s story. The event will sponsor 50 artists portraying 50 different children’s stories.

“This is our fifth year and while it’s tough out there, I let everyone know that these kids don’t know about the economy,” said Julie Knudsen, owner of Zap Creative Studios and founder of Painting for Miracles. “These kids just want to get through whatever it is they’re fighting.”

According to the Painting for Miracles Web site, Knudsen states the event was the brainchild of Zap Creative Group. “I have many friends in the graphic design world who are all stuck at their computers on a daily basis,” said Knudsen. “I thought to myself, we should really get together and paint. What started out as a simple gathering of local artists turned into an annual event that helps the sick and injured children of Sacramento.”

Voyage Home Loans, a Sacramento mortgage company, offers a wide range of loan services and is a direct lender with FHA, and they said they are not only excited to be part of this year’s event, but also thrilled to have been able to refer several artist participants for the event.

“Painting for Miracles is a unique event that pairs local artists with the business community and the children that need our help,” said Josh Harmatz, CEO of Voyage Home Loans. “We are honored to be involved this year as a sponsor, and as a recruiter. Several of our clients have volunteered to contribute their time and talent as artists for the kids. Voyage Home Loans is looking forward to our partnership with the UC Children’s Hospital and the Children Miracle Network for many years to come.”

The public charity art event will be held Saturday, September 26, at Zap Creative Studios, at 6 p.m., and will feature an auction of the artist’s paintings, food, music and stories.Tickets are available at the door for five dollars and all proceeds benefit the Children's Miracle Network at UC Davis Children's Hospital.
