Sacramento Firefighters responded to a collapsed exterior deck at 2204 Capitol Ave around 6:45pm.

At the scene I witnessed one woman transported on a stretcher to an ambulance.

It appeared that the deck, approximately 12 ft above the ground, had pulled away from the structure, apparently while people were on it.

After making sure the injured were tended to, the firefighters began moving the deck

fragments to a safer place.

Woah. The bee reported the height of the balcony to be 5-8 feet last night. Big difference from 12 feet. Apparently three went to the hospital with minor injuries.
