Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson is holding a town hall meeting Thursday with U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. The public is invited to the town hall meeting, but the city is taking RSVPs ahead of time. You can RSVP here.

Members of the public can find a seat at the meeting on a first-come basis. The city notes that space at the event will be limited.

The town hall meeting will be held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Tsakopoulos Library at 828 I Street. The Tsakopoulos Library is located at the Central Library downtown. The city will open the doors to the event at 4:30 p.m.

This will be just one more photo-op to promote the mayor's wish of taking over the schools and turning them into charters so he can continue to rob us blind.

The ink isn't dry yet, Mr. Johnson. Why are you in charge of parading Mr. Duncan around? Is it because of your indepth knowledge of robbing the government blind? Is it because you owe CDE $150K for the uncredentialed teachers you hired? Is it because your charter school, Sacramento Charter High School, continuously operates in the red? Is it because you owe SCUSD $1,000,000? Is it because you owe Americorps $400,000 for the $800,000 you stole from them. Get a grip and get back to something you know how to do....dribble a basketball...duh.

I guess now that St. Hope is bankrupt, the mayor's appetite for underage youth needs broadening.

I sincerely hope that this does not foreshadow the takeover of our schools in the same manner as Washington D.C.
