The lights are on on the R Street viaduct

The viaduct that crosses I-5 from R Street to Front Street is largely completed. Though still not officially open, the lights are up and operating, and a new access to the Sacramento River is a reality.

excellent - I hope it will be much safer to walk & bike after dark.

Oh, this is wonderful news! I dreaded biking across there in the dark, always wondering if somebody hidden in the dark wasn't going to roll in their sleep directly into my path. I hope more people start using it- it is one of two safe routes to cross with a bike to/from Old Sac (the other being through the rail terminal).
