<summary type="text">**Note: The information included in the article says that La Capitale was published until 1945. This information came from this source: http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn83045011

La Capitale closed in 1941, according to Cerruti.

He explains, "The La Capitale newspaper stopped publication in 1941 due to pressures on Italian language publications by the government. It never recovered and the Italian community did not have a community publiciation again until the Italian Cultural Society begin publishing Altre Voci in 1982. That was a break of 40 years and the lack of a unifying publication helped further the decline of the Italian American community for a gereration. The generation that lived through the war were afraid of being to Italian and they passed on that attitude. Now , Italian Americans are being uplifted by their new community organizations and activities which celebrate their heritage and provide new connections to their history, their cultural heritage and even to Italy as a cultural and travel destination."</summary>
