hi Folks,
We've got us a fire bug in Midtown. The last few days several dumpsters have been torched. A couple of occupied buildings came very close to going up.
A group of people is meeting up tonight, 11:00 pm at Harv's at 19th & L, to try to prevent more dumpster fires. Don't get your vigilante juices going. They are just there to report fires before they get out of control and put them out if they can. They'll also be looking for unlocked dumpsters so they can ask the owners to lock them.
So, if you are a night owl, grab a cell phone, fire extinguisher and a flash light and join them! You could end up saving one of our great buildings.

Thanks Rob - we've had bouts of arson in Midtown in the past and it is very disturbing. It's a reminder for everyone to always be on alert and look out for your neighbors - your neighborhood and be aware of your surroundings - this is also true to stop graffiti - a reminder for residents and business owners to turn on exterior lights (add them if you don't have any), and keep the dumpster areas clean, secure, and well lit.
