Sacramento, CA- Shortly before 3 P.M. Monday, in the 1500 block of 19th Street, two apartment occupants were kind enough to allow a transient woman to hang out with them and relax for a bit in their apartment.

Per the occupants (who wish to remain anonymous), as the woman was getting ready to go, she asked to use their home phone. When they declined to allow her to use it she pulled a knife and began to threaten them insiting on using the phone. The two occupants restrained her as an on site worker called for police.

Police responded rapidly, however were initially given the wrong address by the onsite worker, which put officers several blocks away searching for the incident. On dispatch call back, dispatchers were able to obtain the right location and redirected responding officers.

As officers arrived, the woman got loose and led officers on a very brief chase. The fleeing woman was captured in the backyard of the apartment building.

The occupants stated that the woman was also very drunk.

Yup, that will teach them. The last time I gave a transient "bum" some food was an uneaten burger down the street from my place. They later showed up at my door the next day and then stocked me for several days asking if I had more left over’s. I've vowed to never offer anything to these people again.

I believe they can vote as much as anyone else, therefor have as much political power? This person was a law breaker and assulted others, the poor thing.

I say the problem is the disruptive nightlife in Midtown that disturbs the quiet enjoyment of longtime residents and causes these 3pm Monday disturbances- the City should DO MORE to enforce the Code Enforcement laws....
