A press release from the Capitol Artists' Studio Tour organizers:
The deadline to participate in the 2009 Capitol Artists' Studio Tour is July 2 (5pm). The CAST is an annual, self-guided art tour featuring Sacramento artists in their studios. Building upon the tremendous success of the last three years, the tour is open to all artists who have a studio within a four mile radius of the museum at 1519 19th Street, Sacramento.
There are important changes this year, including the opportunity to have your work seen at the Center for Contemporary Art, Sacramento in a show which will open August 21 and run through the tour, which includes the evening of Second Saturday, September 12.
Please find below some of the key dates and facts for the CAST.
Final day to sign-up to participate: July 2 (5pm)
Opening date of the CAST show at CCAS: August 21 (drop-off details to be determined*)
Tour: September 12 (12-4pm) / September 13 (12-4pm)
Special Pre-Second Saturday Reception (for artists and VIPs) at CCAS: September 12 (4-6pm)
Second Saturday Opening Reception: September 12 (6-9pm)
Closing date of CAST show at CCAS: September 13 (pick-up details to be determined)
As last year, we are requiring that you join CCAS at the special Art Membership level ($25), but encourage you to consider joining at the Patron Level ($100) which includes an annual enrollment into the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM). Click here for further information about this great program. This is your only cost to participate in the Tour, and will provide you with membership benefits including attending any of our exhibition lectures at no cost (each lecture is $5).
Please note, the Annual Benefit Art Auction is being moved to September 26, and we are again requesting that all participating artists will donate at 100% to the auction. The auction is our primary source of revenue and is critical to the continued operation of the museum, including future tours.
We believe that the 2009 Capitol Artists' Studio Tour will be bigger and better than in the preceding three years. If you would like to participate, please confirm via e-mail (ccasacramento@gmail.com), telephone [(916)-498-9811] or by visiting the CCAS providing the following information by 5pm, July 2.
